Ridgemount Artisan Golf Club Raises £800 For The New Selsey Lifeboat

Following a chance encounter in the Lifeboat Inn with John Light, former Branch Chairman, some considerable time ago and hearing about RNLI Selsey Lifeboat and the plans for a new all weather lifeboat, Peter Stevens, Captain of the Ridgemount Artisan Golf Club, decided to make Selsey Lifeboat the Captain’s Charity of the year for 2013.
Various events and collections took place during the year including a very successful
raffle. Special thanks are due to club members Mrs Fisher and Mrs Gow for their efforts.
As a result the Club raised the magnificent sum of £800 which Peter presented to Martin Rudwick, Coxswain of the Selsey Lifeboat, at the boathouse on Saturday 14th December 2013.
Peter was accompanied by his wife Beverley and both had an opportunity to board 'Voluntary Worker' and see where the crew work up close.
This generous donation will go towards funding the new Shannon and associated shoreworks currently due for completion end 2015.
