Sports Night and Grand Firework Display
The Tug-of-War competition took place on the Friday of Lifeboat Week and was again a fiercely fought competition. The teams taking part this
year were the Lifeboat Crew, Southern Fabrications, Seal Island Tyres, Pontins Pullers, The Lifeboat Inn, The Bill and one ladies’ team,
Mulberry Divers.
The Ladies’ Competition was won by Mulberry Divers since they were the only
Ladies team (!) and the men’s competition was won by Pontins Pullers who
were presented with the Chichester Observer Challenge Cup by the Lifeboat Coxswain, Martin Rudwick. In second place was
the Seal Island Tyres
team and in third place was The Lifeboat Inn team.
The children taking part this year were the 1st Selsey Beavers and Cubs.
After the Tug of War competition it was time for an amazing show again from Selstar Fireworks. During and after the display a beach collection
was taken and the staggering amount of £2116.16 was raised.
