Selsey Inshore Lifeboat Rescues Couple Cut Off by Tide

The couple called for help on Monday 14th June after getting cut off by the rising tide inside Pagham Harbour.

The RNLI inshore Lifeboat launched (ILB) at 2.13 p.m. with three volunteer crew on board and headed to the harbour entrance. The weather on scene was wind south westerly force 2-3, sea state smooth in sunshine. At 2.21 p.m. soon after entering the harbour the couple were spotted and the ILB was on scene with them at 2.22 p.m. They were fit and well so were given two suvivors lifejackets to inflate and put on before boarding the ILB for the passage to the beach at Pagham.

At 2.35 p.m. the couple were dropped off at the beach and, after taking details, the ILB returned to station arriving back at 3.00 p.m. The ILB was recovered, washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.
