The volunteer crew were paged at 12.39 p.m. on Thursday 26th May. The 30-foot yacht "D'Lirius" had reported being snagged on a fishing pot line in a position 2.3 miles south east of the Lifeboat station.
The local fishing vessel "Toby Rock" was already assisting the yacht as the D-class inshore Lifeboat (ILB) launched. While the Lifeboat was on passage to the yacht it was reported by the skipper of "Toby Rock" that the offending line had been freed from the stern of the yacht.
The ILB continued to "D'Lirius" to confirm that everything was OK aboard and that the lone sailor was happy to continue his passage. Once this had been done the ILB was released at 1.09 p.m. to return to station. The weather on scene was wind force 3 north easterly, sea state slight in bright sunshine.
CREW: Dave Lamdin (Helmsman), Dan Langford and Max Wiseman.
