Selsey RNLI volunteer Lifeboat crew were paged at 3.27 p.m. on Monday 14th July 2014 to go to the aid of a broken down speed boat half a mile north-east of the Lifeboat Station.
The reserve 'D' class Lifeboat 'D675' was launched at 3.35 p.m. with Gary Pearce at the Helm and James Albery and Dan Langford as crew. The weather on scene was wind west force 5 with a moderate sea. When the Lifeboat reached the position given they found that the speed boat had been towed into shore by a small rubber dingy.
The Lifeboat crew assisted the owner of the speed boat to recover the boat to its trailer before returning to station. 'D675' returned to station at 3.55 p.m. and was rehoused and ready for service by 4.20 p.m.
