Selsey Inshore Lifeboat launched to Fully Clothed Woman on Kirk Arrow Bank

Selsey RNLI volunteer crew launched the 'D' class 'Betty and Thomas Moore' at 11.23 a.m. on Friday 20th June 2014. Solent Coastguard had received reports of fully clothed woman sitting on the Kirk Arrow shingle bank just off the Marine beach Selsey.
The weather was sunny with no wind and as it was low tide it was not unusual for people to wade out to the bank, but not fully clothed. The Inshore Lifeboat was quickly on scene at 11.26 a.m. One of the RNLI crew spoke to the woman who agreed to board the Lifeboat for the short journey to the shore. The Selsey Coastguard team had been paged and were waiting on the shore where the woman was handed into their care. The Lifeboat was released by Solent Coastguard at 11.32 a.m. to return to station, arriving back at 11.38 a.m. and rehousing straight away.
At this time the RNLI do not know why the woman was on the shingle bank.
