Selsey Lifeboat Called to Yacht Taking Water and a Severely Sea Sick Crewman

The 26-foot yacht 'Lazy Dream' with three people on board had reported to Solent Coastguard that they were taking water and that they were tired and one crewman was suffering severe sea sickness. They had been at sea for two days on passage from France to Langstone Harbour in the Solent.
The RNLI volunteer crew were paged on Friday 23rd May 2014 at 8.25 p.m. and the Lifeboat 'Voluntary Worker' launched at 8.36 p.m. and headed for the reported position 4 miles south west of Selsey Bill.
The 'Lazy Dream' was eventually found 6 miles south west of Selsey Bill at 9.03 p.m. The skipper said his crewman was OK and didn't require medical assistance. A tow was established between the Lifeboat and the yacht and a course was set for Langstone Harbour.
Langstone Harbour was reached at 10.40 p.m. where a team from Portsmouth Coastguard assisted in berthing the Lazy Dream. A crew member from the Lifeboat went aboard the yacht to assess the 66-year old with sea sickness and on his assessment Solent Coastguard requested an ambulance to check the man over as he hadn't taken any fluid or food since Thursday morning.
'Lazy Dream' was handed over to the Coastguard team from Portsmouth and on the arrival of the ambulance 'Voluntary Worker' left Langstone Harbour at 12.05 a.m. Saturday 24th May 2014.
The Lifeboat arrived back at Selsey at 12.50 a.m. and rehoused straight away with the boat washed down, refuelled and ready for service at 1.30 a.m.
