Selsey Inshore Boat Goes to Vessel Aground

Selsey RNLI volunteer crew were paged at 8.10 a.m. on Monday 19th May 2014 after Solent Coastguard received a phone call from a member of the public reporting a vessel aground on the shingle bank off the Marine car park, Selsey.
'Betty and Thomas Moore' launched at 8.16 a.m. and was quickly on scene. After speaking to the two people on board the 'Adur Diver' it was determined they had run aground shortly after 6.30 a.m. and hadn’t reported it. They said they were happy to wait for the incoming tide as the weather was sunny and calm. Solent coastguards were also happy with this and released the Lifeboat to return to station at 8.33 a.m.
The 'Adur Diver' eventually floated free off the shingle bank at 11.00 a.m. and continued their passage.
