Selsey inshore lifeboat 'Betty and Thomas Moore' launched at 19:03 to assist a kayak with two persons on board who were deemed to be signalling to shore for help south of Aldwick Bay Estate, Bognor Regis.
The ILB was quickly on scene and found a single person happily fishing in his kayak, with all the necessary safety gear, who was not in any danger at all. The local coastguard unit on the shore side confirmed that this was the casualty. At 19:15, when Solent Coastguard and the local Coastguard were happy, the ILB was released, returned to Station and was ready for service 19:40.
