Launch to 37-Foot Motor Yacht 'Boisterous Mistress'

Selsey Lifeboat 'Voluntary Worker', launched at 13:28 to assist the 37-foot motor yacht 'Boisterous Mistress' on passage to Cowes with two persons on board which had fouled both propellers on fishing gear.

'Voluntary Worker' was quickly on scene, arriving at the casualty approximately 2.5 miles southeast of the Lifeboat station at 13:36. Dave Lamdin, (2nd Coxswain), and crewman Colin Pullenger were put on board to assess the situation. Dave and Colin managed to clear the starboard propeller but the port propeller remained fouled.

At 13:45 'Boisterous Mistress' headed off on its journey to Cowes. 'Voluntary Worker' escorted the casualty for 10 minutes and then was stood down at 13:55, returning to station. It was rehoused straight away and was made ready for service.
