Selsey Inshore lifeboat 'Betty and Thomas Moore' launched at 14:51 to assist a small angling boat 'Moonshine' with two persons on board which had reported to have fouled its propeller in a position approximately 4 miles southeast of the lifeboat station.
The ILB arrived on scene at 15:06 to find the angling boat had a fishing pot line marker fouled round its stern. Luckily the line was only hooked round the rudder and as soon as the line was cut by the ILB crew it fell away and 'Moonshine' was able to continue on its way.
The ILB and crew escorted the casualty for a little while before departing the scene at 15:40 to return to station, arriving back at 16:00, rehoused straight away and was ready for service once more at 16:20.
