Two Persons in the Water from Capsized Dinghy

Selsey relief inshore lifeboat (ILB) D-640 Mabel Davies launched at 11.46am at the request of Solent Coastguard to assist two persons in the water from a capsized dinghy off of Park Lane, Selsey.

Arriving on scene at 11.52am the lifeboat and crew found that with the onshore wind and flooding tide the dinghy and casualties had been washed ashore uninjured. With no need for medical attention the casualties were left with the local Selsey coastguard team, who gave them sea safety advice.

The two persons in the water were visitors to Selsey and were unfamiliar with local beach and weather conditions.

The ILB was released by Solent Coastguard at 11.56am and returned to station arriving back at 12.05pm where she was recovered, washed down, refuelled and was once more ready for service by 12.25pm.

CREW: R.Archibald (Helmsman), J.Albery, S.Troughton-Smith.
