Selsey Lifeboat, Voluntary Worker, launched at 0340 at the request of Solent Coastguard to 27 foot yacht 'ELSA' with one person on board which had suffered engine failure in a position 5 miles SSW of the Lifeboat Station. The Lifeboat arrived on scene at 0400 and a tow was passed. Towing commenced at 0405 and a course was set for Chichester Harbour, arriving at Sparkes Marina at 0545 where the casualty was safely berthed. The Voluntary Worker departed Sparkes Marina at 0600 arriving back at station at 0655 and rehoused immediately.
