23-Foot Power Boat Broken Down

Selsey all weather lifeboat “Voluntary Worker” launched at 1344 to go to the assistance of a 23-foot power boat “Jessie Louise” broken down with three persons on board approximately 3 miles southeast of the station.
The lifeboat was on scene at 1400 and a towline was connected. Unable to enter Littlehampton Harbour due to tidal conditions a course was set for Chichester Harbour. During the tow it was arranged for Chichester Harbour patrol to take the tow off of us and to continue towing the casualty up to the Chichester Marina where it had its own berth. At 1545 just inside the harbour the tow was transferred to the harbour patrol vessel. The lifeboat was released to return to station arriving back at 1630, rehoused straight away and was ready for service once more at 1515.
