Selsey inshore lifeboat “Betty and Thomas Moore” launched at 1208 to investigate reports of two boys aged 10 & 12 trapped on a shingle bank at Pagham Harbour.
The lifeboat arrived on scene at 1221 and quickly located the boys. It transpired they had walked across the harbour entrance at low tide from Pagham to fish off of a shingle bank on the Selsey side. They hadn’t noticed the incoming tide and found themselves cut off. The boy’s parents had reported the situation to the Coastguards.
At 1227 the lifeboat transported the two boys back across the harbour to Pagham where their parents were waiting for them.
At 1229 the ILB was released to return to station arriving back at 1245 rehoused straight away and was ready for service once more at 1310.
