Two Boys Swept into Pagham Harbour

Selsey inshore lifeboat “Thomas and Betty Moore” launched at 1438 to assist two young lads who had attempted to swim across Pagham Harbour entrance from the Pagham side and had been swept into the harbour. The two casualties managed to swim ashore on the Selsey side of the harbour. Their parents were on the other side and were concerned for the boy’s safety so called for assistance.

The lifeboat arrived on scene at 1446 and found the two boys who were both all right but a little shaken and exhausted from their ordeal. The ILB transported the two boys back across the harbour to the Pagham side where their parents were waiting.

At 1458 the lifeboat was released to return to station, arriving back at 1508, rehousing straight away and was made ready for service once more at 1530.
