Selsey all weather lifeboat ‘Voluntary Worker’ was launched on service at 1945 to assist the 23 foot motor boat ‘Santana’ which had broken down 2 miles east of the lifeboat station with 2 POB.
The lifeboat arrived on scene at 1950, passed a tow line and commenced towing at 2012. A course was set for Chichester Harbour arriving at the Bar Beacon at 2112. The casualty was then brought alongside and taken to Sparks Marina where they were left with the Hayling Coastguard’s at 2147.
‘Voluntary Worker’ was released from service at 2155 and returned to station arriving back at 2240 and was rehoused at 2245.
