At 1434 whilst attending a search and rescue demonstration off of Pagham Yacht Club; Selsey inshore lifeboat “Betty and Thomas Moore” was tasked by Solent Coastguard to investigate reports from members of the public on the beach of a paddle boarder possibly in trouble off of Felpham.
The lifeboat arrived on scene at 1446 whereupon the crew quickly ascertained that the reported paddle boarder was in fact a man on a kayak happily fishing. With no assistance needed the lifeboat was released at 1447 to return to the SAR demonstration at Pagham.
