Suspected Missing Person

At 1916 whilst on exercise Selsey inshore lifeboat “Betty and Thomas Moore” was tasked by Solent Coastguard to assist in a search for a suspected missing person.

The casualty was described as male, 63 years old and potentially suicidal. The lifeboat searched close in shore between West Sands and Pagham Harbour. At 1956 with nothing found and no confirmed evidence that the person had entered the water the ILB was released to continue with its exercise.
