33-Foot Yacht “Ocean Spirit” Aground

Selsey inshore lifeboat “Betty and Thomas Moore” launched at 1036 to assist a 33 foot yacht “Ocean Spirit” aground on the “Streets” with two persons on board approximately 2 miles west of the station.

The lifeboat arrived on scene to find that the yacht had floated off unaided and was proceeding out to sea. The helmsman of the lifeboat went aboard the casualty to check that everything was well with the casualty and her two crew.

After ascertaining everything was OK with the casualty the lifeboat departed the scene to return to station arriving back at 1115, rehoused straight away and was ready for service once more at 1140.
