Report of Unmanned Fishing Boat

Selsey inshore lifeboat Peter Cornish Launched at 1038 at request of Solent coastguard to investigate reports of an unmanned fishing boat approximately 1.5 miles SSW of Selsey Bill. The lifeboat located the vessel at 1058 and confirmed that no one was aboard. The boat was identified as a tender to a local fishing vessel and was secured to a line whilst the mother vessel was fishing locally.

The lifeboat made contact with the owner and confirmed that all was well and the lifeboat was released to return to station at 1107.

After returning at 1120 "Peter Cornish" was washed down, re-fuelled and ready for service at 1126.
