Reserve ILB ‘Elsie Frances II’, currently stationed at Selsey, launched at 1737 hrs to assist one male person in the water from a capsized dinghy approximately 100 yards offshore of Pagham Yacht Club.
The ILB arrived on scene at 1744 hrs to find that the casualty had reached the shore safely and was in the hands of Littlehampton Coastguard, cold but otherwise safe and well. An ambulance was on route to the scene and the capsized dinghy was being recovered by the yacht club safety boat.
The ILB remained on scene until the ambulance arrived whereupon it was released at 1802 hrs to return to station, arriving back at 1815 hrs and recovering straight away.
