Swimmer in Difficulties

ILB D533 ‘Peter Cornish’ launched at 1610 hrs to investigate reports of a swimmer in difficulties east of the lifeboat station. As the ILB entered the water the local Coastguards, who were on scene, reported the man was ashore. Apparently he had been found by a passing dinghy clinging to a mooring buoy and they had returned him safely to the beach.

The ILB then checked all other swimmers in the area to ensure they were alright before returning to station at 1625 hrs, recovering straight away and ready for service by 1650 hrs.

CREW: Dave Lamdin (Helmsman), Robert Archibald, Craig Sergeant.
