ILB D533 ‘Peter Cornish’ was tasked at 0233 hrs by Solent coastguard to attend a possible suicide attempt.
Local police had requested the presence of the ILB after discovering a man standing on the outer end of the rock groyne at the end of Hillfield Road; apparently the man was known to them and was considered to be at risk. Thankfully the police resolved the situation before the ILB entered the water. The launch was cancelled by Solent Coastguard at 0238 hrs.
